Pictures here from the Tall Ships event during 2010 when DRS was requested to provide traction and hired coaching stock by Northern Rail to run a shuttle service between Darlington - Hartlepool and Sunderland.
The service featured veteran class 47s being employed along with their re-engined cousins, being a class 57 - with one locomotive of each on each set. They provided a welcome surprise to the variety of stock used, but also allowed some locomotive haulage at ordinary fares.
Pictures here include some from on the Darlington to Eaglescliffe section which does not see regular passenger locomotive hauled trains.
